August and September Fun

These are some pictures from the end of August and beginning of September....sorry they're so late!

Lydia working on standing...

She is not fond of it!

11 months!

Chunkiness everywhere!

We caught her standing up on her own!

While Daddy plays football Julius gets his own kind of exercise!

Running!

Still running!

Mommy and Lydia watching the boys.

A bald eagle nest at the football field!

It was a long night of football!

Big girl picking out her own books!

We were trying to take pictures of all 8 of her teeth but we settled for the four on the bottom...she has 4 on top too!

Picking plums on our walk on the Clear Creek Trail through Silverdale.

Silverdale Waterfront Park with friends!

Low tide

Enjoying the sunshine!

His best side :)

Josh, taking advantage of being the big kid!

Sean and Julius contemplating their move to take him down! :)

Pool Days

But first... we love turning cardboard boxes into whatever we can think of!  Today it was Thomas the Tank Engine!

Lydia's 10 month picture!  We were celebrating Christmas in July.  Not really, but it was only in the 50's on the day we took this.  We were getting ready for a walk outside!

We also LOVE macaroni and cheese!  She was quite pleased with herself!

Wrestling.
This is literally the first thing the kids do to Daddy when he gets home from work!  Lydia is on the right side of Nick pulling up his shirt and slapping his belly.

Now for the POOL!
We love the sun and the sun loves us...well for about a week straight anyways.

Lydia is not too sure that pouring water on your face is fun.

Julius thought it was though!

"Catch Mommy!"  And yes he threw it at me right after this! :)

Lydia is practicing pulling up on everything!  Now that she crawls, the pink pool no longer contains nor entertains her!

Thanks for watering the plants Julius!

Drying off in the sunshine!

A few days later we enjoyed ice pops after the pool!

She found her own way of eating it!  I love that I can put her hair in pig tails now!!!!

Pleased with herself, again!  Notice the purple drips all over her legs...so funny!

Playing outside is really the highlight of every day for us!  We are all so happy when the sun is out!

While the cushion covers were being washed she really enjoyed pulling up on the couch, she's getting the hang of it quick!  This picture was an attempt at capturing her standing by the couch...

...but she'd rather crawl over to the camera and pull up on Mommy's knees!!

Crawling, crawling, and more crawling with this little girl!

Chunky monkey!!

She loves her baby doll!

She carries it everywhere!  Sort of the way Mommy carries her everywhere!

See, she does stand up!

We are really enjoying our summer!  We took ride to Point No Point Lighthouse and had a great beach day!  The tide was way out and there were lots of sail boats to look at.  Also lots of barges stacked high with freight going to and from Seattle.  We walked through the tide pools chasing little fish and picking up starfish.  Julius loved to hold the starfish in his hands then he would try to drop them when he turned his hand over but they stuck every time!  He thought that was so fun!  Lydia had fun watching us splash the water!  We made our way to the "talking rock," it's more like a boulder but it's covered in barnacles that are making all sorts of funny little sounds!  Julius loved shushing us to make us listen!  We enjoyed some lunchables and strawberries then took another walk.  We skipped rocks on the water.  We watched an Eagle catching fish and flying up to perch in a tree while he gobbled it up!  It was a great day!  We are so grateful for the beautiful weather we've been enjoying!

Catching up!

Let's go way back...to May that is!
We enjoyed the Kitsap Destruction Derby!

USS H.M. Jackson Gold crew picnic!  The fire truck came for the kids to explore.  Definitely Julius's favorite part of the day!  Daddy's favorite part was winning a door prize, an XBox 360!  Julius also loved playing football with Daddy and the other guys from the boat!

And of course everyone loved the cotton candy machine!!

Mommy's favorite part of the day, baby ducks!!  Adorable :)

Getting ready for bath time!

Mother's Day flowers!

My buddy and me!

Lydia's 8 month pics!

Mommy told Julius that spiders might get on him...mean Mommy!

Rocking some new sandals from Granny!

And a new hair bow from Nana!

Chunky girl!!!

June 5, 2012
Watching Venus transit the sun!

Playing in our cardboard tunnel!

Lydia cut her first tooth!  You can see it in one of these pictures!

Yes, it's June and we're still bundled up like it's March!  But we're used to it!  Julius has got the hang of driving Francesco!  He can squeeze it between parked cars and maneuver it out of the garage too!

Challenging the dump truck to a race?

Checking the tire pressure :)

Checking out the damage...I'm sure he ran into the curb on purpose!

Pushing him into the pit...must have been a bad crash, lol!

His biggest fan!

Making cake pops with our favorite missionaries :)  We miss Elder and Sister Finnegan already!!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

Lydia's 9 month pictures!!

"I like to read books about cars too, what's wrong with that??"

She loves to point with her index finger and she picks things up with the little pinching motion too!

Silly baby, books are for reading!

Finally a warm day.  Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to get wet.  We really just sat outside in our suits so we weren't in the hot house.  No air conditioning is tough on a chunky baby! :)

She looks like she wants to crawl!  It didn't happen though!

Happy July 4th!!
We opted for sitting in our truck on a hill, watching the fireworks down on the Poulsbo waterfront!  The show was actually July 3rd.

Yes, it was chilly enough for sweatshirts!

Had a pretty good view without the loud noise!

After the show, messy truck :)

So, on July 4th, we enjoyed the Bainbridge Island Grand Ol' 4th Celebration!  Daddy had the usual fair food, grilled sausage dog.  Mommy and Julius had frito pie, YUM!  We also walked through the car show, always fun!  And then had these wonderfully delicious homemade ice-cream sandwiches!!  When I say wonderfully delicious, I mean it!!  Daddy had chocolate chocolate cookies with vanilla ice cream and Mommy had salted oatmeal cookies with coconut ice cream!  Amazing!

Julius had a homemade ice cream bar!

Pretty sure we all loved our ice cream!!

Maybe Lydia will try out the mowgli crawl for a bit....you know, from The Jungle Book :)

Chehalis Centralia Railroad and Museum
We took a ride on an old steam train, super fun!

The whistle is louder in person, that's for sure!

We fed Lydia some lunch just before the train left the station.

Julius was so excited!!

Until the whistle blows, lol!

A full tummy would do this to you too!

Some of the scenery :)

Waiting for the engine to switch ends.

She slept the whole time!

Julius called these marshmallows, much to the delight of the older gentlemen seated next to us!

Mt. Rainer or Mt. St. Helens...not sure which!

Railroad ties always make me think of my Dad!  Also, how stinkin' heavy they are!

Pretty fields!

Definitely Mt. St. Helens!!  Also, amazing!

Just a cool bridge!

My pool boy!  Finally a warm enough day!!

We also got a bigger pool, so now we have three...but of course we all enjoyed the one!

July 16
Daddy reenlisted in the Navy!!
First he was Honorably Discharged...

...sworn back in...

...and reenlisted!

Mommy got a Certificate of Appreciation :)

Signing away his life, lol!

July 17
Lydia decided to crawl for the first time and pull-up to standing too!

July 19
My baking assistants!  We were working on Daddy's Birthday cake!  They helped out by making a mess! :)  I was around in the kitchen when I heard delighted little giggles from both...

and this is what I found!

Mommy fried Daddy some wings.

Balloons are just fun!

Batman paid us a visit :)

We are having a great summer!  Hopefully we will have more sunny days than we've had so far!  As always, we are grateful for our family and love spending time together!
