Kitsap County Fair and Kitsap Memorial State Park

We had a great time at the Kitsap County Fair! We went with the Boyett family, Emily, Josiah and little Caroline (barely 1 month!).

Josiah had no problem climbing up in the seat and taking it for a spin :) Julius was not so sure about it...he loved looking at the old tractors but sitting on them, not so much :(

In the Antique Farm Equipment barn we found a cow to color on! (Looks like a cross between a cow and a moose to me!)

If there was an animal close enough to touch Julius had his hand in the pen just a pettin'! This baby goat loved it! And I loved him :) so wanted to take him home!!

Jacob Sheep
Never seen these before, two sets of horns, thought that was neat!

We went on the second day of the fair so the animals hadn't quite wised up to sitting at the back of the pen to avoid being poked and prodded. Then again, some of them seemed to like having a little scratch behind the ears!

MOOOO!

Kids Pedal Tractor Pull
Gotta be the best event ever!! I thought big tractor pulls were cool, I wish this was an event going on while we were there cause we totally would've watched it!! I'm gonna be looking for these at all of the fairs I go to now!

On the way out we had to stop by the EMS tents to check out the fire truck! In case anyone doesn't know, Julius LOVES fire trucks! He walked around and checked it out after this pic, tires, lights, anything he could reach!

Cool little race car!
Had a blast at the fair! Enjoyed some grilled corn on the cob and a very refreshing raspberry lemonade icee! Definitely will be making this fair a tradition while we are here! Did I mention they have military free and military half price days!!

So it got too warm inside the house one afternoon so we jumped in the car and drove a few miles up the road to Kitsap Memorial State Park. There was a nice breeze at least, but still a lot of sun!

Checking out the boats with Daddy.

Wanted to get a pic with him and this was how he decided to stand :)

Saying "cheese" to Mommy.

Talking about rocks...should make Granny proud!

This slide is super fast and Julius has quite a look as he goes down, unfortunately it's too fast for the camera!
Can't believe how much Julius has changed in the past few months having Daddy home! He has quite a little vocabulary and understands so much! He says a few little sentences like "hear that?" "see that?" "Dada/Mama go" and "thank you" One of his new words is Mama!! It took him a while to get that one and sure made me happy :) He loves cars, trucks, boats, trains, etc! He makes a different noise for each one and will play with them any time of day! He's discovered making them crash, thanks to the first scenes in the movie Cars. We went to the base theater to see Cars (for free) and he was really into it for the first hour or so. He eats a lot! Didn't think he would start eating us out of house and home so soon! :) He is full of energy and ready to go as soon as he wakes up in the morning!! We are so grateful for our little family and are excited for our new addition!

Only one more week til Baby 2! Got a lot of stuff to do this week while we prepare for Nana and Great-Grandma Linda to join us and prepare for Little Misses arrival! Still haven't made a final decision on her name apparently I'm going to have to see her to know!

Beach, NFL, and Finger-painting

We took advantage of another sunny day and went to Point No Point again. Julius is pointing out all of the boats, puppy dogs, etc. We did eventually get him to the water but it was definitely chilly, so we didn't actually get anything wet but our toes!

Browni came along too!

Just being cute for Mommy!

Hanging out with Mommy :)

Throwing rocks with Daddy. This was pretty much our water activity for the day...Mommy doesn't mind letting her feet get numb so she walked along the water finding some sea glass and Julius would come down for a few seconds but he was not happy about the cold water on his toes!

Seattle and Mt. Rainier in the distance...very far distance! Definitely need to enlarge the image to see Mt. Rainier!

Done with rocks...now playing with sticks.

Nick at Century Link Field!
Seahawks vs. Vikings

The field...Nick says it was much closer than it appears :)

Players coming onto the field...cool tunnel!

So, Number 7 on the field warming up...supposed to know who this is...I'll have to ask Nick again :)

Around their section of seats.

Finger-painting!

It does wash out :)

Water fun, Nick's NAM and H.M. Jackson Picnic

Yay! I'm finally updating the blog! I was excited to upload pics and look back on the last few weeks...hope it's fun for you too! :)

On a warm day in early August...when Mommy thought it was too late in the afternoon to take out the pool, swim trunks, swim diaper...this is what we did instead :) Probably should have just done the pool cause we both go soaked anyways!

July 28, 2011
Daddy received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal!

Congratulations Daddy!!

H.M. Jackson Picnic
Daddy's boat had a Command picnic at a nice park. We had fun playing "hilly-billy golf" or at least that's what I think it's called :)

Playing on the playground. Julius is very accomplished when it comes to climbing the stairs, ladders, and sometimes the slides too! He loves to pretend to drive a car!

Trying to get him to investigate the tree was not easy...finally I talked him in to picking up a rock in the tree but he was quick to get back out! A cool tree though!

Hmmm...sure it won't be long before he gets it :) Once all the kids put the hull-a-hoops down he enjoyed hopping in and out of them on the ground :)

More golf! I think we were the only people who played that day!

Daddy, in his Hawaiian shorts, enjoying some volleyball.
It was a beautiful day for a picnic!

July 4th and Beyond

We went to the Grand Ol' July 4th Celebration in Winslow,WA on Bainbridge Island. They had a car show that we enjoyed walking through! Just snapped a few of our favorites. This was Nick's.

This one we all liked! A nice family vehicle :)

This was Molly's favorite! I liked the paint job, these flames are pretty awesome :)

Julius's new favorite form of transportation? No, but he did enjoy sitting up there and petting the horses noses! He's pretty fearless when it comes to animals...wait now that I think about it the hermit crab in an earlier post made him cry...must be the BIGGER the animal the less afraid he is :)

Had to sit up high to see the performing pigs on the stage...Mommy only saw them through the camera and even then it was pretty far away! They were playing soccer and football so Julius enjoyed it!

Had about a week of hot afternoons, so we took advantage of them! His swim trunks kept falling down, he's so skinny, so we eventually took them off :) He loves dunking his head in the water and letting the water go down his face...quite a little fish already!

Nick's favorite picture of him ever, he said! He loves his footballs!

Another pool day! Yay for the Ice Cream truck! This push-up was super yummy!

We've been enjoying Daddy's football practices too!

29 weeks! 10 more to go!

Trying on Daddy's boots before bathtime :)

So, when Mommy takes a shower in the morning, Julius plays in his bedroom and the hallway. There is a babygate in the bathroom doorway. There are also drawers that Julius can reach in the bathroom when he reaches over the gate. Usually Mommy takes out things that she does not want Julius to get into...unfortunately she left a nail polish pen within reach...not as bad as it could have been! Since it's white we don't really know if it got on the walls :)

July 19
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Julius is tapping on the floor next to him, asking Daddy to come open presents beside him :)

Julius was happy to help wherever!
Hope it was a good day Daddy! Love you!
Well July has been fun so far! It is going by quickly! Hopefully we'll have some more sun at the end of the month...it's been a little chilly and dreary for pretty much the last two weeks! Here's to hoping!
