Christmas 2011

Lydia's first Christmas!  I think she loved her presents but not so much being taken out of bed at 7am!  She's not a morning person!

Before we got Granny and Lydia we took a peek at all of the presents under the tree!  We also talked about opening the presents and Julius was so excited!

Julius chose the first present which was for Lydia so he took it to her to open, her eyes are open but I don't think she was quite that thrilled to be up :)

"Vroom, vrooms!"

There were a lot of presents to open and Julius took turns opening with Granny and Mommy!

A few Hotwheels...have we mentioned how much Julius loves cars!!

The Tonka dump truck came from Santa!

Sanford is wondering how he's going to get to the door!

Francesco Bernoulli aka San Francisco :)

Granny loved her presents too!

Some really awesome crochet patterns in here!!

Oooooh!

Showing Lydia her presents as he opens them, he's such a good big brother!

Not sure he really knows they are for her...I think he's just agreeing to let her hold them for him :)

Taking Francesco for a spin!

Following him around while got the hang of it :)

Our Christmas best!

Love their expressions!

We had a wonderful Christmas!

Granny's Visiting Scenic Beach (#3)

Yay!  We made it to Scenic Beach!  The playground is always the first stop for Julius!  He really loves to slide and we lost count of how many times he went down!

I know Julius looks far away over there, but we were watching him!  Luckily we were the only people at the park that day so he could pick up as many rocks as he liked and throw them too!  Look closely and you'll see that a Katie and Molly visited the park and vandalized Grandpa Somebody's Cabin :)

We took pictures with the only red oak in the whole park...or at least that's what it seemed like walking through all of the evergreens!

This is why it's called Scenic Beach!!

Lydia, doing what she likes to do!

It could be called Driftwood Beach but I suppose every beach in Washington could be called that!

It's really not as unsafe as it looks...

Julius needs to be in gymnastics...he loved doing the splits this day because the paths were moss-covered and a little slippery!

As he was running across the bridge I told him to stop and you can imagine what happened!  Feet slipped right out from under him!  Granny and I couldn't help but giggle, thank goodness he's a good sport and got right back up without a hitch!

We thought the little bridge would make a nice picture but Julius wasn't too keen on it to begin with and even after we got him to stand still his face didn't!

One of my shoes is under the camera so that it would tilt back and get all of us in the picture! :)  Granny is pointing to the camera but it was pretty far away, if you were wondering why the confused look from Julius.

Yes, the trees really are that tall!

A "TUNNEL" for Julius!  In his favorite book, Freight Train by Donald Crews, the train goes through a tunnel and that is one of the words in the book that he loves to say!

Julius brought home some souvenirs from his throwing competition with Granny and Mommy.  These of course were meant to be thrown into the water but between gloves and a bulky coat they never made it!

Julius had a box waiting for him when we got home!  He loves to open boxes so December was a great month for him!

Lydia was exhausted!

We had a great time!  The kids fell asleep on the way home so we must have tired them out!!  More pics to come!

Granny's Visiting #2

Santa Clause came to town!!  We had to trek up to another street in our neighborhood to catch him, but it was worth the hike!

Now anytime Julius sees Santa he also says "whee-oo", as in fire truck :)

The Big 2!!  A little reluctantly...

Birthday presents from cousins...

Lydia has found her hands!!  She has not looked back either...now she's starting to eye her feet!

A much more gentle big brother these days!

Granny reading a little I Am Legend to Lydia, lol!! j/k!

See...she loves her hands!

We had a great time at the Festival of Choirs...at least I think Granny was ok with it :)

Ready to go home!

Lydia soaking up Granny time + Granny soaking up baby time = Mommy taking a break time!

Rocking the baby is hard work!  Guess it's easier sitting down!

Lovies!

Picture Perfect!

At least Lydia knows what the camera is there for :)

More of our Granny time pics to come!!  This is only about halfway through the month!
