Mushrooms anyone?

This big guy showed up in our yard about 3 days after Hanna...I guess mushrooms put on water weight too! I just had to take a picture of it...I thought it was a soft shelled turtle when I first saw it!

Tropical Storm Hanna

I think that was the name of it...I really don't remember...was it Hanna? Anyway, I know this happened a while ago but we didn't have any damage. This big tree limb landed about 2 feet from the truck. We were very glad it missed :) Also, our backdoor doesn't close very well without being finagled a little and around 4:30 in the morning the wind blew it open! The dogs barked so I got up and shut it before too much water got in :)

So...as if I don't have enough going on in my life...Kerriann thought it would be a good time for me to start reading this book. I think she already knew how it would end up, me not sleeping for the past 3 nights because I was so caught up in it!! It really is a good love story even though it's about vampires! I am very into children's literature and this is considered a teen series so I thought I would give it a try. Low and behold I am now in love with the main character :) Hope you guys can borrow a copy and check it out sometime! By the way there are four books in the series.

My "Classroom"

So here is the room I will be working in this year...it's actually a trailer. It is quite empty, but since I will be student teaching in January I didn't want to do too much to it! It works for the kids...they are only in here for 30 mins in the morning and afternoon. I can't believe how stressful the first two weeks have been! Sorry I have neglected the blog!

Here is Nick before braces...with braces...and as of today, August 26th, without braces! Yea! He's very happy to have them off but he still feels a little weird :) He wore them for about a year and a half. The first picture is at our wedding. The second is in December of 07. The last was today...the day they were taken off. I didn't notice when I first got home from school today but then I saw a paper from the dentist and it hit me and now I can't stop looking at them :) Doesn't he look great :) !!!

Nick was BUSY while I was away!

So...my hallway is almost finished. We are waiting on the floor to be fixed underneath the house, so no baseboards yet. Nick's favorite room in the house is waiting on carpet and baseboards of course...but I think that also has to do with the floor too. And finally the one complete room...our bedroom. Although I am working on some kind of art and probably a small crown molding. But the carpet is in and it all looks great!

I am also trying to convince Nick to let me paint the kitchen so that it matches the hallway...but we'll see what happens!
